從最早與Legging(壹種緊身打底褲)搭配,到阿什麗?

Designers Rahul Mahtani & Yofred Moik from the Industrial Design program at Syracuse University came up with this concept called Google Envelopes. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to map the course of mail and how it can tell a story? They came up with Google Envelopes, which can be sent through G-Mail itself. It’s only a concept, but totally viable and something people can immediately understand.

Moon Festival 2010

Tomorrow (Sep22) is one of my favorite traditional Chinese holidays – the Moon Festival — when friends and families get together to appreciate the biggest full moon, drink tea, eat moon-cakes, and to celebrate the change of seasons from summer to autumn.

There is a beautiful Chinese poem from the Sung Dynasty that I like. To share with my friends and family who are far away from me, is “Shui Diao Ge Tou” by “Su Shi”.

My own translation of the last five sentences —

Just like how the moon changes its shape all the time, it is only a law of nature that people change between being happy and being sad, getting together and falling apart.

I shall only wish for health and long life, for us to look at the very same moon that touches our hearts, and for us to be together that way.

With this blog, and upon the moon, I wish you health and happiness, and yummy moon-cakes.

Daylight Savings Time 2010 and DST 2010 Spring Forward Updates

Daylight Savings Time 2010 and DST 2010 Spring Forward Updates.  Next Sunday is a big day. Daylight Savings Time is when we “spring forward” for the year, thus “gaining” an hour of sunlight during the night hours.  This shift in time that we observe each and every year has the purpose of energy conservation. Without Daylight Saving Time, some think that we would actually spend more on energy.

Did she just say “Daylight Saving Time?” Yes, I did. I didn’t mess up. “Daylight Savings Time” isn’t the correct way to identify “Spring Forward.”  However many swap out the “Saving” with “Savings” because it just sounds better.

The most recent legislation surrounding DST occurred in 2005.  Then, President George W. Bush passed legislation which actually lengthened Daylight Savings Time, making it occur earlier in the year and then reverting back to Standard Time late in the year.

Not all of the US participates in this phenomenon.  Hawaii, Arizona, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Guam all stay on Standard Time all year long.  In addition, some counties in Indiana don’t participate in DST either.

Next Sunday, before you make big plans don’t forget to mark your calendars for Daylight Savings Time 2010 and remember to take that hour reduction in time into consideration before going to bed.  Computer clocks and cell phones should automatically update.  Anything else you might need to do on your own.
